Independent Medical Evaluations

Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs) are work related medical examinations performed by an impartial and objective physician who has no prior contact or relationship with the patient. The purpose of the evaluation is to provide medical and functional information to a third party (the employer).

The information gathered can be used for settlement negotiation and may be used as evidence if a case goes to trial. The results of the evaluation are usually sent only to the employer.
